Sometimes one just gets lucky. I was out putzing around in the dinghy away from our anchorage at Punta Balandra when this large humpback tooled by. He repeatedly surfaced right in front of me as he worked his way out into the open Sea of Cortez. For some unknown reason all I could do was put my hands on my head and make incoherent noises. What an astonishing moment!
